New Hardwood Floors

In January, 2010, we changed the floors in the Kitchen, bathroom, and craft room from carpet, vinyl, and poured seamless flooring to oak hardwood flooring, and refinished the existing hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, hallway, and office.   And we did this all at one time.

On Monday, January 11, John started the demolition work by removed the carpeting in the office, hall, living room, and dining room.  Next came removal of the underlayment in the bathroom and kitchen, and removal of the cove base in the craft room.  The flooring was delivered on Thursday, January 14, and installation of the flooring occurred on Monday and Tuesday, January 18 and 19.

Sanding was done on Monday, January 25, staining on Tuesday, and finishing later that week.

Then a week for the finish to cure.

John spray painted 23 sections of baseboard on February 2 & 3, and started installing baseboard on February 4.

We were back in the house on February 6.  Everything worked out very well, and the floors are beautiful.
